CYRIL E. KLEIN
(1921 - 2015)

Cyril E. Klein, of 3309 Adams Street, Two Rivers, passed away on November 5, 2015, with his family at his bedside.

He was born in Two Rivers on June 8, 1921, the son of the late Nicholas J. and Evelyn (Zimmer) Klein. Cyril attended Two Rivers public schools and graduated from Washington High School with the class of 1939. He was united in marriage to Beatrice E. Buhk at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Two Rivers on June 23, 1945. Cyril was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church where he served as a Trustee and in various other volunteer capacities. He often donated his time to help St. John's with needed construction activities and repairs. He was skilled with building construction, having designed and built their two homes, one with the help of his son. His career began at Hamilton Manufacturing Company in August of 1939 in the job assembly and trim department. During his career he served as wage supervisor, industrial engineer supervisor, manager of special engineering projects, supervisor of standards, and time study manager. He retired in 1986 after 47 years of dedicated service.

He was a member of the Hamilton Foreman's Club, served as Secretary and then President of the Hamilton Management Club, Secretary of the Wisconsin Council of National Management Clubs, and as a member of the American Institute of Industrial Engineers. Cyril was an active member in the community serving as a Cub Scout Master for the Washington Grade School Pack, was co-founder of the Two Rivers Family Swim Club, a member of the Lakeshore Curling Club, a winner of the Couples Championship Herald Times traveling trophy, and Secretary of the Two Rivers Silver K Kiwanis Club. He was an active golfer, winning with his wife Bea the husband/wife couples tournament at Fairview and was a member of Hamilton's bowling team. He was an ongoing supporter of the March of Dimes Birth Defect Foundation. Cyril had a passion for travel. He and Bea traveled to England and many European countries, South America, Tahiti, and the Caribbean. In his later years they enjoyed spending time in Arizona, Dallas, Maui and other Hawaiian Islands. An avid reader, he had a great love for studying the history of the Civil War.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years: Beatrice; his son: Bryan and his fiancé, Connie Cooper, Dallas, Tex.; his daughter: Ellen and her husband, Gary Konop, Germantown; his grandchildren: Sarah (Josh) Lutz, Menomonee Falls, Laura Konop, Wauwatosa, Timothy and Christopher Klein, Grapevine, Tex. ; brother-in-law: Roland Malkowski, Ariz.; niece: Diane (Don) Krienitz, Ariz.; sister-in-law: Joan (Buhk) Brull, Manitowoc; nieces: Pam Wheeler, Renae (David) Schermetzler, and Kim (Joe) Brull: and brothers: Darwin (Hilda) Klein, Manitowoc, Donald (Ruth) Klein, Two Rivers. He is further survived by cousins: Russell Shambeau, Rusty (Bonnie) Shambeau, Peggy (Dennis) Crull, Cathy (Ron) Wick, Peter Shambeau, Marlene (Skip) Zacher, Glenn (Bev) Shambeau, Audrey Shambeau, Connie (Bill) Rahmlow, Lee (Marion) Shambeau, Larry (Elise) Shambeau, Julie (Peter) Nass, Helen Kohlmeier and Ruth Ann (Wally) Guetschow and special friends: Rachel Zik, Bernice Swoboda, and Phyllis Kirchner. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers: Loren, Glenn and Aaron; sisters: Eunice and Gladys; brother-in-law: Douglas Buhk and sister-in-law: Carolyn Malkowski.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, November 13, 2015, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 17th & East Park Sts., Two Rivers. Rev. David Scherbarth officiated at the service with entombment in Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Hwy 310, Manitowoc.
