She married Vincent Crivello on August 15, 1922 in Chicago. They lived for a short time in New York and moved back to Chicago in the mid-30's. They adopted a son in 1939 and he was their only child. Esther played the accordion and loved to write music. She attempted to publish several of her songs shortly before her death. She also bred Manchester Terriers. She died of cancer in 1954.
