Mrs. Foerster Resident Here Since 1862
Mrs. Leonard Foerster, a resident of the county since 1862, died suddenly at the family home west of the city on Middle Road, Monday evening, aged 67.
Mrs. Foerster, whose maiden name was Appolinia Theuringer, had been ill but was thought to be recovering when death came.
Decedent was born in Bavaria, Germany, April 26, 1842 and came to America when a child, residing in Washington County for years. She was married in 1862 and was the mother of ten children, nine of whom survive her. Until recent years the family resided in Kossuth. Mrs. Foerster was a member of the Germany Lutheran Church.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 1 from the late home, Rev. Grether officiating. Burial will be at the Evangelical Cemetery at Kossuth.

Death Monday evening last week from a heart attack of Mrs. Appolonia Foerster, wife of Leonard Foerster, a man known countywide.
The deceased (nee Theuringer), was born 23 April 1842 in Mittelfranken, Bavaria, and came to America with her parents in 1848. The family settled in Germantown, near Milwaukee, and there she married in 1868 with Leonhard Foerster, moving with him to Manitowoc County in 1876 and settling in Town Kossuth. Until a few years ago she and her husband operated a farm in Town Rapids where she died of a heart attack on 20 December.
In addition to her sorrowing husband she is survived by 8 children. 2 other children preceded her in death.
The funeral was held Thursday in the cemetery of Town Kossuth.
