CHARLES KRAUSE
(1862 - 1939)

Charles Krause, 76, a resident of Shoto for many years, died this morning at 10:30 o'clock at the home of Roland Scherer, Shoto, where he had lived for a number of years. He had been ill for several weeks.

He was born in Germany and came to the United States when he was a boy, and engaged in farming in this county for a half a century.

Mr. Krause was the last surviving member of his family. A sister, Mrs. Alex Dusold of this city died five weeks ago.

Funeral arrangements will be announced Thursday.

Funeral services for Charles Krause, who died Wednesday morning at Shoto, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m., at the Pfeffer Funeral home with burial in the Kossuth cemetery. The Rev. Paul Blaufuss will officiate. The body will lie in state at the funeral home from Friday noon until the hour of the funeral.
Mr. Krause was the last survivor of a family which included 13 children.
