EDWARD A. SHIMEK
(1963 - 2009)

Edward A. Shimek, age 45, of 2107 Monroe St., Two Rivers, entered into eternal life on Tuesday evening, March 24, 2009, at his residence.

Ed was born on April 30, 1963, in Mishicot to Daniel Shimek and Mary Ann (Eckert) Shimek, and has been a lifelong area resident. . He attended the Diesel/ Excavating School in Sun Prairie, and graduated from there in 2001. On Feb. 6, 1993, he married the former Lisa Marie Anderson in Manitowoc. He was employed as a machine operator for the Kaysun Company, and most recently was employed as a delivery driver for Two Rivers Building Supply in Two Rivers. Ed loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed working on his house and in his yard. He was very active and ambitious. He also enjoyed helping others, and was a very caring person who would help anyone that needed it.

Survivors include his loving wife: Lisa Marie; one son: Daniel William Shimek, and his special friend, Lisa Post, both of Manitowoc; his mother: Mary Ann (Shimek) Wendt, Casco; two sisters: Sandra Shimek, Sturgeon Bay; and Elerene (Donald) Carle, Manitowoc; three nieces: Karen (Philip) Boldra, Manitowoc; Melissa Fencl, Green Bay; and Julia Fend, Milwaukee; a brother-in-law: Ronald Anderson; two sisters-in-law: Shari Olson; and Janet Bennin, all of Two Rivers; and by his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Vernon and Donna Anderson, Two Rivers. He was preceded in death by his father: Daniel William Shimek.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2009, at Grace Congregational United Church of Christ, 2801 Garfield St., Two Rivers, with Pastor Kim Henning officiating.

Relatives and friends may call after 11:30 a.m. Friday at the church until the time of service at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.

The Shimek family would like to express a very special thank you to the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center and to the Aurora VNA for their love, special care and concerns, shown Ed and our family during his illness. Your kindness will always be remembered.
