MAN'S SPINE MAY BE BROKEN IN FALL TO ICE
John Shekosky, 55, Fractures Several Ribs; Suffers Much Pain At Hospital

John Shekosky, 55 year old Manitowoc Route 4 resident, is in the Holy Family hospital here today suffering from a possible fracture of his spine and from several broken ribs, the result of a fall in front of the Theodore Fricke home, 1816 Western avenue at noon today. He fell over a lawn rail as he slipped on the walk.

Full extent of his injuries had not been determined up until 2 o'clock this afternoon, Dr. A.F. Stueck, his attending physician declaring that Shekosky was suffering from pain when the preliminary examination was being made that it was impossible to determine whether or not the spine was fractured.

Mrs. Julius Stupecky, 724 S. Twenty-fourth street, was near Shekosky when he fell and with the aid of a man whom she called, took the injured man to the Rohrer barber shop and from there he was removed to the Holy Family hospital.

The outcome of Shekoski's injuries cannot be forecast but it is feared his condition may be serious.
