Henry Sprick, for 64 years a resident of Manitowoc county, died at the home of his son-in-law, August Gauger, Rockwell, Route five, at the advanced age of 79 years, death claiming his life early this morning.

Henry Sprick was born in Hanover, Germany, on September 8, 1847, and came to this country at the age of 15, taking up residence at Rockwell on the farm which has since been his home. On November 8, 1870, he was united in wedlock with Sophia Woltars at Milwaukee after which the couple located on the farm at Rockwell. Deceased had retired from active farming some years ago and has spent his declining years on the old homestead with his daughter and son-in-law and a brother, Fred Sprick. Two grandchildren also survive.

Mr. Sprick had been actively engaged in social and church affairs in his community, being respected as a sincere church member, having helped found the First Lutheran church at Rockwell from where he will be buried on Monday afternoon at two o’clock, with interment at the Rockwell cemetery. Funeral services will be held from the old homestead at 1:30 to the church where last rites will be read.
