DEATH TAKES MRS. SPECHT ON THURSDAY
Widow of Herman Specht, Rockwood, Dies at Hospital; Rites Monday


Mrs. Lydia Specht, 71, widow of the late Herman Specht, pioneer Kossuth farmer, died Thursday noon at the Municipal hospital here, following an operation a week ago. Mrs. Specht, who resided with her only son, Edwin A., on the home farm, just north of the village of Rockwood, on Highway 141, had been in ill health for several months.

Funeral Monday
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Evangelical church in this city, with burial in Evergreen cemetery in the town of Kossuth. Services will be conducted by the Rev. William C.F. Hayes. The body is at the Klein & Stangel, Inc., funeral home and may be viewed there from 7 o'clock Saturday evening. It will be taken to the church at 10 o'clock Monday morning.

Nee Lydia Krieser, Mrs. Specht was born on the Cooperstown farm of her parents, August and Wilhelmine Worm Krieser, Feb. 26, 1875. She was married to Herman Specht of Rockwood on April 10, 1912. The couple settled on the farm near Rockwood, where they resided until Mr. Specht's death the past June.

One Son Survives
Only one child, Edwin A., was born to the couple. He survives, along with three grandchildren. She is also survived by four brothers, John Krieser of Milbank, S.D., Ben of Long Beach, Calif., Arnold of Maribel, and Ray W. of Manitowoc. There are three sisters, Miss Emma Krieser of Maribel; Mrs. Helen Newman of Chicago, and Mrs. John Nuernberg of Plattsville, Wis.
