Born December 9, 1922, Alvin Leroy Stroh died peacefully in his sleep at his home in Downey, California, August 21, 2006. His wife of sixty years, Leonore Stroh was by his side. The evening before, he was surrounded by Leonore; son, Duane; daughter, Julie; sister, Gloria Nelson and her husband, Dick Nelson of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Also in that circle was daughter-in-law, Susan Stroh; grandson, Christopher Stroh; and Julie's lifetime partner, Cyl Santillan. Brother, Jim Stroh and his wife, Eileen of Eckert, Colorado, and many nieces and nephews also survive Alvin.

A Marine Captain serving in the South Pacific during World War II, Alvin returned to duty during the Korean conflict. Alvin's distinguished business career began as a Southern California distributor for Bell Brand Foods. He owned McMillin Wiring and Plating from 1969 to his retirement in 1995.

Alvin was an avid sportsman, a skilled craftsman and inventor, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law and friend. He will endure in our hearts forever.
