SAN DIEGO - Lionel Bergevin, 79, of San Diego, died Thursday after a short illness. He was born in Suncook, the son of Walter and Rose Alma (Dupont) Bergevin. He served with the Army Air Corps during World War II. In 1938 and 1939, he worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps camps in Pittsburg. He retired from Rohr Aircraft Co. in California. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fly fishing. He served as an instructor for the San Diego Fly Fishing Club. He also enjoyed camping, bird hunting, photography and operating the ham radio. He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Mary (Gibson) Bergevin, who died in 1998. Survivors include six brothers, Gerald Bergevin of Pittsburgh, Pa., Gaston Bergevin of Huntington Beach, Calif., Robert Bergevin of Sun City, Ariz., Roger Bergevin of Concord, Victor Bergevin of Napa, Calif., and Jean Bergevin of Manchester, Ga.; two sisters, Theresa Letourneau of Allenstown and Marie Ayles of Pembroke; several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated tomorrow at Holy Family Church in San Diego. The El Camino Mortuary in San Diego is in charge of the arrangements.
