Claire I. Arkens, age 94, formerly of Francis Creek, died Wednesday morning, July 23, 1997, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 .a.m. Saturday, July 26, 1997, at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. Rev. Theodore Hendricks will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial to follow in the parish cemetery.
The former Claire D'Aoust was born March 1, 1903, at Sugar Bush, Brown County, daughter of the late Eugene and Mary Servais D'Aoust. On December 9, 1919, she married Raymond Arkens at Seymour, Wis. Claire had worked as an LPN at Oconoto Falls Hospital from 1954 to 1969. She is an honorary member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek, the Kubale-O'Connell VFW Post #6179 Auxiliary of Cato and the Rockwood Francis Creek Senior Citizens. She loved her grandchildren, playing cards and sewing.
