George W. Wakenight Dead.

Employe of Engraving and Printing Bureau Fifty-One Years.

George W. Wakenight, for fifty-one years employed as a machinist at the bureau of engraving and printing, died suddenly yesterday at his home, 1339 29th street northwest, from heart disease. Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon at the family residence. Rev. E. D. Stone of Congress Street Methodist Protestant Church will officiate, and burial will be in Rock Creek cemetery. Employes of the machine division of the bureau will act as pallbearers.

Mr. Wakenight was born in Middletown valley, Frederick county, Md., April 1, 1839. He came to Washington in 1862 to accept a position in the bureau of engraving and printing as machinist. During his half century of service he was continuously employed in the machine division of that bureau.

His wife, Catherine V. Wakenight, and three children—Mrs. E. J. Lewis, Mrs. W. B. Sebastian and Harry W. Wakenight—survive him.”
