Caroline C. Dirkman, age 84, 94, of 519 Forest Home Drive, Francis Creek, died Sunday, June 21, 1998, at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. Rev. Ted Hendricks, Rev. Justin Pierce, Rev. John Hephner, and Rev. Tom Wojciechowski, O.F.M. will concelebrate with burial to follow in the parish cemetery.
She was born June 25, 1903, in Manitowoc Rapids, daughter of the late George and Emma Kortens Zimmer. She married John V. Dirkman on June 24, 1924, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death in 1973. Caroline was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, St. Anne Altar Society, Parish Refunding Program, and a Eucharistic Minister for many years.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Leo and Marcella Dirkman, Francis Creek; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Dorothy and Norman Wachholz, Manitowoc, Luella and Leonard Schleis, Menchalville, Dolores Dirkman, Green Bay, and Marjorie and Steve Clingan, Northfield, Ill.; one sister, Leona Wellner, Manitowoc; 27 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Ed. Heinzen, Manitowoc; one sister-in-law, Hilde Pokorski, Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers; three sisters; one granddaughter, Diane Schleis; nine sisters-in-law; and seven brothers-in-law.
Relatives and friends may call at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, Kellnersville, from 5-8 pm. on Wednesday, where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m., led by Fr. Hendricks. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 10 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church.
Memorials may be made to St. Anne Catholic Church of St. Mary's Home.
