Death of Mrs. Margarethe Ewen on Wed. evening of last week following a short illness, but a long infirmity. She was 74-1/2 years old.
The deceased came here in 1847 with her husband Caspar and lived in Kossuth since that time.
She leaves two children, Mathias Ewen and Mrs. Prohaska. She had 12 children of which 10 predeceased her, one of the last being Quirin Ewen.

Mrs. Ewen of Francis Creek died last week, at quite an advanced age. Her husband had died some years ago. Mrs. Ewen was mother of Quirin Ewen at one time county treasurer, and a man deservedly popular.
