Mrs. John Ewen, nee Mary Kerscher, 80, of Francis Creek, died Tuesday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following a brief illness.
Mrs. Ewen was born in the town of Kossuth in 1871. Married to Mr. Ewen in 1895, the couple lived on a farm near Francis Creek until 1923, then moved into the village. Her husband died in 1945.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Ann Catholic Church, Francis Creek, Rev. Joseph Rauch officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Survivors are a daughter, Miss Rose Ewen of Francis Creek; two sons, Edwin of Manitowoc and William of Francis Creek; four sisters, Miss Theresa Kerscher and Mrs. Joseph Kellner, both of Francis Creek, Mrs. Rose Wery of Menominee, Mich., and Mrs. Sophia Koeh of Two Rivers; two brothers, Louis Kerscher and Frank Kerscher, both of Francis Creek; seven grand-children and two great grandchildren.
The casket will be removed to the Sauer Funeral Home, Kellnersville, to the residence at Francis Creek where friends may call from 3 p.m. Thursday until the hour of services. The St. Ann Altar Society, of which Mrs. Ewen was a member, will recite the rosary at 8 p.m. Friday at the church.
