Mrs. Charles Fierst, 88, formerly of Rt. 1, Whitelaw, and a resident of St. Mary Home, Manitowoc, since Aug. 1967, died Sunday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville, and at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. The Rev. John Haen will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Born Antoinette Wanek Nov. 9, 1881, in the Town of Kossuth, Manitowoc County, Mrs. Fierst was the daughter of the late John and Anna Swetlik Wanek. On Jan. 15, 1901, she was married at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kellnersville, to Charles Fierst. Following the marriage, the couple resided at Kossuth for seven years, moving then to the Town of Gibson, Manitowoc County. Following the death of her husband Aug. 19, 1967, Mrs. Fierst moved to St. Mary Home. The couple celebrated its golden wedding anniversary in 1951.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Mary Bouba, of Manitowoc, and nieces and nephews. Mrs. Fierst was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home until the time of services. The Rosary will be recited 8 p.m. Tuesday by members of the St. Anne Christian Mothers and Altar Society of which Mrs. Fierst was a member.
