Joseph W. Delsman, Sr., 77, of Rt. 1, Whitelaw, died Sunday afternoon at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville, and at 11 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. The Rev. James Massart will officiate with burial in the parish cemetery.

Mr. Delsman was born Aug. 31, 1899, in the Town of Kossuth, son of the late Louis and Anna Bauman Delsman Sr. He married Mathilda Zipperer Nov. 7, 1922, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Whitelaw. The couple operated a farm in the Town of Kossuth. Mrs. Delsman preceded him in death in July of 1949. He was the former treasurer of the Town of Kossuth, a position he held for 42 years. He was a member of the Catholic Knights Branch No. 86 of Francis Creek and a former member of the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society of St. Anne Catholic Church.

Survivors include four sons, Kenneth and David of Manitowoc and Joseph E. Jr. and Howard of Rt. 1, Whitelaw; two daughters, Mrs. Gwendolyn Meehan at Manitowoc and Mrs. Janice Kutil of Madison; three brothers, Albert of Corpus Christi, Texas, Quirin of Manitowoc and Clarence of Milwaukee; a sister, Mrs. Edwin (Mayme) Blaser of Manitowoc, 29 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Friends may call at Saur Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday where a prayer service will be conducted at 8 p.m.
