WS Giles dies after paralytic stroke Saturday
Funeral held home on Caddo Street today.

William Simmons Giles, 79, of this city died at 9:15 o'clock Saturday night, June 7, following a paralytic stroke. The funeral was held at the residence at 1515 Caddo Street at 1:30 this afternoon.

Mr. Giles was born in Houston County, Georgia, and moved from that place to Texas in his youth. He has lived in Hunt county practically all his life and has resided in Commerce for the past twenty-five years, having moved here in 1905.

He married Agnes Chaffin December 19, 1878 and they had four children, three of whom are still living, Virgil having died December 17, 1888.

He is survived by his wife, three children, Mrs Leota Campbell of Chicago, Mrs. Ethel Sayle of Commerce, Dr. Upton Giles of New Orleans, four grandchildren, Frank and Upton Sayle of Chicago, Upton Giles Jr. and Anne Giles of New Orleans, and one great grandchild, Betty Anne Sayle of Chicago, one sister Mrs. Jim Backman of Greenville, and one brother Bob Giles of Campbell.

Interment will be made in the Sodom Cemetery near Campbell. (Originally named Sodom but later named Sullivan - remains moved and reinterred at Rose Mound Cemetery)
