JOHN HARTMAN
(1888 - 1938)
John Hartman, 50, whose herd of Jerseys have won county and state honors in the last few years, died at 3:45 o'clock this morning at his farm home on the Lake Shore road, Manitowoc, Route 3, after an illness of two years.
He was born May 4, 1888 in Germany and came to Wisconsin at the age of 18. He lived in Milwaukee for seven years and on Nov. 25, 1915, married Miss Anna Holschbach. They resided on the farm on Rout 3 for the last 16 years.
Surviving relatives are the widow and seven sons, Francis, Alois, Clarence, Anthony, John, Leo and Norbert, all at home.
The body will be removed to the residence from the Pfeffer Funeral home Tuesday. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 8:15 a.m. at the residence and at 9 o'clock at St. Andrew's church. The Rev. Henry Letz will officiate and burial will be St. Anne's cemetery at Francis Creek.
