William J. Hassemer, 72, Francis Creek, died Monday, October 12, 1987 at his home following an illness.

He was born March 24, 1915 in the Town of Kossuth, son of the late George and Emma (Korzinek) Hassemer. On October 19, 1940 he married the former Bernice Muench.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice; a daughter and son-in-law, Joy Lynn and Myron Mleziva, Francis Creek; a grandson, Steve; a granddaughter, Dena; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Harvey Hassemer, Brillion and Louis and Josephine Hassemer, Wayside; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Emma Gretz, Route 1, Whitelaw, Esther and Alfred Lemberger, Port Washington and Norma Rieck, rural Manitowoc; several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville and 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. Rev. Donald Schneider will officiate at the Mass of Resurrection and burial to follow in the church cemetery.
