George A. Hassemer, Sr., 84, of 1311 Parkway Blvd, Two Rivers, died Thursday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Klein and Stangel, Inc. Funeral Home, Two Rivers, and at 10 a.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church, the Rev. R. Thomas Peters officiating. Burial will be in St. Anne Cemetery, Francis Creek.
Mr. Hassemer was born Dec. 7, 1884, in the Town of Kossuth, a son of the late George and Josephine Kellner Hassemer. He married the former Emma Korzinek at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek, Nov. 11, 1906. He operated farms in the Town of Kossuth area until 1942 when the family moved to Two Rivers. He was employed at the former Manitowoc Ship Building Corp. until his retirement in 1957. His wife preceded him in death in 1954.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. John (Lucille) Carbon of Branch, Mrs. Stanley (Emma) Gretz of Rt. 2., Two Rivers, Mrs. Alfred (Esther) Lemberger of Port Washington, and Mrs. Don (Norma) Rieck of Rt. 2, Manitowoc; four sons, George W. and Harvey of Two Rivers, William of Francis Creek and Louis of Wayside; a sister, Mrs. Edwin Wacholz of Rt. 2, Manitowoc; a brother, August of Menominee, Mich.; 42 grand-children and 52 great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Friday where memorial services will be at 8 p.m.
