Henry Hassemer, 61, of Francis Creek, was stricken with a heart attack Tuesday morning while doing carpenter work at the John Wagner meat market in the village. He died before the arrival of a physician. Funeral plans will be announced Wednesday by the Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville.

A veteran of World War I, he served with the 12th Veterinary Hospital unit. He never married.

Surviving are a brother, Charles of Manitowoc; five sisters, Mrs. Frank Kerscher and Mrs. Leola Kerscher of Francis Creek, Mrs. John Meyer and Mrs. Edward Glaeser of Manitowoc and Mrs. George Wagner of Milwaukee.

Funeral services for Henry Hassemer, 62(sic), of Francis Creek, who died of a heart attack Tuesday morning while doing carpenter work in the village, will be held at 9:15 a.m. Thursday at the Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville. The Rev. Joseph Rauch will officiate and burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Francis Creek. The Drews-Bleser Post of the American Legion, Manitowoc, will conduct graveside military rites.

He was born in Kossuth June 7, 1893, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Hassemer, and was in service in 1918-19 in World War I. He engaged in carpenter and tinsmith work and roomed at the C.J. Hessel place in Francis Creek, where he was also a part time employe.

A brother and five sisters survive, including Mrs. John Meyer and Mrs. Edmond Glaeser and Charles Hassemer of Manitowoc.

Friends may call at the funeral home, where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
