Mrs. Charles Hassemer, 63, of Francis Creek died at 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville, and at 10 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, Francis Creek. The Rev. John Haen will officiate at the solemn requiem high Mass and burial will be in the church cemetery.

The former Mathilda Ahl was born July 18, 1898, in the Town of Liberty, daughter of the late Peter and Rose Marx Ahl. She was educated at St. Gregory Catholic School, St. Nazianz, and married to Charles Hassemer June 2, 1926. The couple farmed in the Town of Kossuth until 1952, retiring and moving to Manitowoc. Six years later they moved to Francis Creek. She was a member of Christian Mothers Society and Catholic Knights.

Surviving are her husband, a daughter, Mrs. James Tuma, of Francis Creek; three sons, Harold, Milton and Ralph of Francis Creek; six sisters, Mrs. Anna Frey of St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. William Bertsche of Osman, Mrs. Gerald Glaeser of Juneau, Wis., and Mrs. Olive Dunn, Mrs. Joseph Fitzgerald and Mrs. William Sieracki of Manitowoc; three brothers, John of Rt. 1, Newton, Joseph of Manitowoc and Frank of Sheboygan; and 13 grandchildren. A brother preceded her in death.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday where the Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. and at 8 p.m.
