Mrs. Alvina Havlichek, 78, of Whitelaw, died unexpectedly Monday at home.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville, and 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. The Rev. James Massart will officiate with burial in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Havlichek, nee Alvina Dworsak, was born Dec. 13, 1897, in the Town of Kossuth, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Sladky Dworsak. She was married to Charles Havlichek May 22, 1917, at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. The couple resided at Branch until 1951, then moved to Whitelaw. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church and Christian Mothers and Altar Society of the church. Her husband preceded her in death in 1953.

Survivors include a son, Melvin, of Whitelaw; three daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Bernice) Resch and Mrs. Joseph (Germain) Stradal Jr., of Rt. 1, Whitelaw, and Mrs. George (LaVerne) Stueber Jr., of Whitelaw, a brother, William, of Francis Creek, 14 grandchildren and a great grandson. A son, Gardy, was killed in action in World War II. An infant son, a grandchild and a brother also preceded her in death.

Friends may call at Sauer Funeral Home, Kellnersville, after 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday until the time of service. A prayer service will be at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday by Father Massart and Christian Mothers and Altar Society.

Mr. Chas. Havlicek of Branch and Miss Alvina Dvorak of Francis Creek were united in marriage at St. Anne's church at Francis Creek on Tuesday, May 22. The couple were attended by Miss Alma Havlicek and Louis Stradel.

The newly married couple will make their home at Branch where the groom is proprietor of the Branch meat market.

They have the well wishes of a large circle of friends.
