(1886 - 1985)

Katherine Heran, 96, a resident of St. Mary Home, Manitowoc, died Saturday evening, August 17, at St. Mary Home.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. The Rev. Donald A. Schneider will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Heran, nee Katherine Lemberger, was born Nov. 11, 1886, at East Wrights Town, Wis., daughter of the late Frank and Barbara Staudinger Lemberger. She was married to Joseph Heran May 4, 1908, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Whitelaw. The couple owned and operated a farm in The Town of Kossuth, moving to Manitowoc in 1965. Her husband preceded her in death Jan. 12, 1967.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Lester and Merlene Heran of Route 2, Mishicot and John Heran of Milwaukee; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Esther and Isadore Korleske and Jenny and Walter Wilms both of Manitowoc, Eve and Tom Bradley of Elk Grove Village, Ill., and Lillian Heran of California; 16 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and 2 great great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by a daughter Viola, a grandchild and three great grandchildren.

Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 6 o'clock to 9 o'clock this Monday evening, where a prayer service will be 7:30 o'clock by Deacon Don Gigure.

Miss Katie Lemberger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lemberger, Whitelaw and Joseph Heran were married at St. Michael's church, Whitelaw, Rev. Father Herb being the celebrant.

The bride was attended by Miss Barbara Lemberger, a sister and Adolph Heran, a brother of the groom was groomsman. Miss Sophia Lemberger was the flower girl. The bride was attired in white silk trimmed with point lace and carried a bouquet of lilies of the valley.
