Blanche B. Herman, 81, former resident of Park View Haven Apartments, Manitowoc, died Thursday evening, June 29, 1989 at Shady Lane Home, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 9:15 am Saturday at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville and 10 am at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Ronald Reimer and burial will be in St. Anne Cemetery, Francis Creek.
The former Blanche Shimon was born July 2, 1907 in the Town of Manitowoc Rapids, daughter of the late Wencel and Ludmilla Hovorka Shimon. She married Luke Herman Jr. in 1929. The couple then lived in Francis Creek. He preceded her in death December 12, 1955. For the past 20 years Mrs. Herman had resided in Manitowoc and was employed in the Holy Family Hospital cafeteria until her retirement. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Jean Herman of Francis Creek; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and James Peroutka of Marshfield; three brothers, Albert Shimon of Rt. 1, Whitelaw, John Shimon of Branch, Edward Shimon of Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. Ann Christman of Manitowoc and Mrs. Harry (Helen) Wicihowski of Manitowoc; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Joseph (Bud), several brothers and sisters.
Friends may call at Saur Funeral Home from 8:30 - 9:15 am Saturday. In accord with the wishes of the deceased, the casket will remain closed. There will be no visitation at the funeral home this Friday evening.
