LOUIS B. HERRMANN
(1878 - 1967)

Louis B. Herrmann, 88, formerly of 412A N. Lake St., Manitowoc, died Sunday afternoon at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. He had been in failing health two years.

Funeral services will be 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at Mittnacht Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, Francis Creek. The Rev. John Haen will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Herrmann was born Dec. 2, 1878, in the Town of Kossuth, son of the late Engelbert and Bernadine Bolle Herrmann. He attended St. Augustine School at Reif Mills. As a young man he was employed as a carpenter at an Appleton paper mill for several years and later worked for Havlinek Carpenter Contractor of Francis Creek prior to establishing his farm in the Town of Kossuth in 1903. He operated this farm until he retired in 1952.

He married Clara Ellerman Sept. 24, 1907, at St. Michael Church, Whitelaw. They resided on the farm in Kossuth, except for the past five years spent in Manitowoc, most recently at St. Mary Home for the Aged. He was a member of Holy Name Society of St. Ann Church and the Catholic Order of Foresters.

Survivors include his wife, two sons, Ervin of Manitowoc and Fred of the homestead farm, four daughters, Mrs. Wilbur (Leona) Newman of Manitowoc, Mrs. Max (Martha) Boehm of Rt. 4, Manitowoc, Mrs. Allen (Agnes) Degeneffe of Milwaukee and Mrs. Gerald (Violet) Panosh of Manitowoc, 20 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. A son, Paul, preceded him in death two years ago.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. by the Holy Name Society and Catholic Order of Foresters.
