Brazilian Actress. Born Marília Marzullo Pêra, she was a prominent actress who was well known for her work in both television and film. She started in television in 1965, appearing in the television series "Rosinha do Sobrado" and continued working in the field throughout her career. Her television credits included "Beto Rockfeller" (1968), "Uma Rosa Com Amor" (1972), "Brega & Chique" (1987), "O Campeão" (1996), "Duas Caras" (2007), "Pé na Cova" (2013), and "Começar de Novo" (2004). Pêra also worked in various films such as "Central Station" (1998), "Pixote" (1981), "Mixed Blood" (1984), and "Angels of the Night" (1987). She received many awards for both her film and television work through the years (was the first South American to be honored in North America with a Best Actress prize in 1981 for her performance in "Pixote"). Pêra was hailed by well-known film critic Pauline Kael as one of the 1980s "ten best actresses". She has also performed on stage in several theatrical productions.
