(1920 - 2008)

Dorothy H. Koeppel, age 88, formerly of 7326 Reifs Mills Road, Manitowoc, and currently a resident of St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc, died on Sunday evening, Dec. 14, 2008, at St. Mary's Home.

The former Dorothy Blimel was born on April 27, 1920, in Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Frank and Caroline (Augustine) Blimel. She married Roman G. In her early years, Dorothy was a baker at what was formerly Muench's at Alverno, and worked at the Baugniet Mink Ranch in Mishicot. Dorothy farmed alongside her husband, Roman, for many years, until they went into partnership with Koeppel and Mayerl Catering. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family, and will be sadly missed.

Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband: Roman; five sisters and three brothers-in-law: Olive Blimel; Marie Blimel; Marcella (Roland) Peltier; Lorraine (Emil) Shoulak, and Caroline (Vernon) Steinbrecker; one brother: Leroy Blimel; and one daughter-in-law: Doris Koeppel.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Kellnersville. The Rev. Gerald Foley will officiate, with burial of her cremated remains to follow at St. Anne Cemetery, Francis Creek.
