Fritz was born on June 3, 1917 in Mishicot, WI, son of the late George C. and Mary E. (Koch) Kornely. His mother died while giving birth to Fritz's baby sister and his father died six months later, leaving four boys ages 11 to 2 years. After the death of his father, the boys were taken in by various relatives and friends. Two year old Frederick was raised by the Matthew and Clara Petri Family of Two Rivers, WI.

Mr. Geo. Kornely and Miss Mary Koch, only daughter of Mr. Koch of Kossuth, were united in marriage on Wednesday last. The ceremony was performed by Father Pelligree of Francis Creek.

In the evening they held a reception for a few friends. The 308 Glee Club furnished music. A sumptuous repast was served at midnight and singing and dancing was indulged in until daylight. Everybody departed saying it was the best time they had had in years.

Mrs. Peter Kornely of Appleton, Miss Rose Meyer of Manitowoc, Mr. Frank Haws and wife and numerous friends from Two Rivers were among the guests.
