Mrs. Arthur Kortens, 72, of Rt. 2, Manitowoc, died at home Sunday evening. She had been ill three years.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc and at 11 am at St. Ann Catholic Church, Francis Creek. The Rev. John Haen will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

The former Elsie Wachtel was born at Two Rivers, May 12, 1888, daughter of the late Frank and Anna Benzinger Wachtel. She was married at Two Rivers June 24, 1912 and the couple farmed on Rt. 2, Manitowoc. She was a member of St. Ann Altar Society and Luck13 Homemakers Club.

Surviving are the husband; two daughters, Mrs. Alvin Novak of Mishicot and Mrs. Charles Mleziva of Rt. 1, Whitelaw and five grandchildren. Two brothers and a grandchild preceded her in death.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2:30 pm Tuesday where the Rosary will be recited at 8 pm.

Arthur Kortens of Francis Creek and Elsie Wachtel of the Town of Two Rivers were united in bonds of matrimony by the Rev. Father Geisler of St. Luke's Church Tuesday morning.
