Edward Kortens, 62, of 632 S. 25th St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Richard Heyman will officiate and burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Francis Creek.
Mr. Kortens was born Aug. 1, 1909, in Manitowoc County, son of the late Albert and Rose Braun Kortens. He married Gladys Leland May 12, 1934. His wife preceded him in death Aug. 21, 1959. He then married Catherine Schiegg Dec. 26, 1960. He had been employed at Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc.
Survivors include his wife, two sons Daniel of Rockwood and Robert of Manitowoc; three daughters, Mrs. Peter (Mary) Sota of California, Mrs. Loren (Katherine) Liddell of Cedarburg and Miss Janet Kortens of Whitebear Lake, Wis.; four step-sons, Victor Schiegg of Milwaukee, William of Appleton, Joseph of Luxemburg and James of Manitowoc; a step-daughter, Miss Maxine Schiegg of Sheboygan; a brother, Paul of Rockwood; three sisters, Mrs. Joseph Kaiser and Mrs. Gordon Jansen of Manitowoc and Mrs. Frank VanAlstine of Winona, Minn., and ten grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Thursday where a Memorial service will be held at 8 p.m.
