Emil J. Lorenz, 79 (photo), of Rt. 2, Two Rivers, died at 1:20 p.m. Thursday at Manitowoc County Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, Rev. T. F. Uetzmann officiating. Burial will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Francis Creek.
Mr. Lorenz was born Jun 5, 1886, in the Town of Manitowoc Rapids, son of the late John and Minnie Daugs Lorenz. He attended Manitowoc Rapids and Lutheran elementary schools at Manitowoc, and was graduated from the University of Wisconsin Agriculture Short Course.
He married the former Laura Hickey at Maple Grove May 14, 1911. He was a cheeesemaker at Maple Grove for three years and at the Rangeline Cheese Factory for two years. The couple farmed in the Town of Kossuth. Mr. Lorenz was a former member of the school board of Kossuth District No. 1 for six years. He was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. His wife preceded him in death Feb. 27, 1952.
Survivors are four sons, Raymond of Las Vegas, Nev., Elmer on the home farm, Kenneth of Rt. 2, Manitowoc, and Wayne of Rt. 1, Denmark; six daughters, Mrs. Lester (Ruth) Reinke of Mishicot, Mrs. Joseph (Bernice) Herrmann of Francis Creek, Mrs. Roland (Helen) Chaloupka of Rockwood, Mrs. George (Marjorie) Antholz of Ladysmith, Mrs. Fred (Dorothy) Benzinger of Two Rivers and Mrs. Lan (Priscilla) Cerminara of Green Bay; a brother, Herman of Rt. 2, Manitowoc, 29 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Two sons, a brother and two sisters preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville, until 11 a.m. Saturday and then at the church from noon until the time of service.
