Kenneth W. Lorenz age 85, of 8921 Parkway Rd. Manitowoc, (Francis Creek), died Monday morning, May 6, 2013 at the Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center of Manitowoc following a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease with his family by his side.

Ken was born on March 6, 1928 in the Town of Kossuth, son of the late Emil and Laura (Hickey) Lorenz. Ken graduated in 1946 from Mishicot High School and lived most of his life in Francis Creek. He farmed, ran a Lake to Lake Milk route, owned and operated Lorenz's Gas Station and Diner in Francis Creek, and was a distributer for Standard Oil Company. On January 2, 1951 Ken was married to Jane Kvitek at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kellnersville. The couple celebrated 62 years of marriage this year. He enjoyed playing cards, traveling, camping and hunting small game and deer. Ken was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, and in the past served St. Anne as an usher, charter member of the Francis Creek Sportsman's Club, a member of the Manitowoc Knights of Columbus Council #710 since 1947 and served for 10 years on the town board for the Town of Kossuth.

Survivors include his wife: Jane Lorenz, Francis Creek; two sons and one daughter-in-law: Terry (Melissa) Lorenz, Sapulpa, OK; Thomas Lorenz, Lafayette, CO; two granddaughters: Stacey (Shawn) Berzinsky, De Pere; Shelly (Matthew) Marcks, Pulaski; three great grandchildren: Chevalier Emery, Braxten Berzinsky and Jordan Marcks; one sister: Marjorie Antholz, Evans, GA; six sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law: Marion Lorenz, rural Two Rivers; Nancy Lorenz, rural Two Rivers; Fritz Benzinger, Two Rivers; Marjorie Fogeltanz, Kellnersville; Carol Kupsh, Kellnersville; Mary (Hal) Dietrich, Brillion; Bob Kvitek, Menchalville; Judy (William) Decker, Reifs Mills; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends survive. Ken was preceded in death by his parents: Emil (Laura) Lorenz; one daughter: Cynthia Lorenz; five brothers: Edward, Richard, Raymond, Wayne and Elmer; five sisters and five brothers-in-law: Dorothy Mae Benzinger, Helen (Roland) Chaloupka, Ruth (Lester) Reinke, Bernice (Joe) Herrmann, Priscilla (Dan) Cerminara, George Antholz; two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law: Leo Fogeltanz, Michael Kupsh and Nancy Kvitek.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Francis Creek. The Rev. John Becker will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial of his cremated remains to follow in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m.
