(1929 - 2005)

Orvill Erdman Marquardt, age 75, of 3503 Forest Circle, Manitowoc, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born June 18, 1929, in Manitowoc, son of the late Adolph and Sophia Rocklewitz Marquardt. Orvill was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, class of 1947. On July 1, 1950, he married the former Marian Koch at St. Luke Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Orvill was employed at various construction companies for many years, retiring from Wal-Rich Construction Co. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc Fish and Game Association and a life member of the Carpenters Union. Orvill was a member of the Billy Schultz Circus. He was an avid sportsman, loved duck hunting and fishing. Orvill was a faithful supporter of the Indian Missions.

Survivors include his wife: Marian Marquardt, Manitowoc; three sons and daughters-in-law: David and Joanne Marquardt, Donald and Lori Marquardt, John and Vickey Marquardt, all of Manitowoc; six daughters and a son-in-law: Patty Marquardt, Manitowoc; Linda and Dennis Grabowski, Rockwood; Rita Marquardt, Kewaunee; Joan Marquardt, Jean Marquardt and Ruth Marquardt, all of Manitowoc; 22 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Orman and Mary Ann Marquardt, Alaska; Oliver Marquardt, Two Rivers; John ""Boots"" and Diane Marquardt, Alaska; a sister: Diane Kiel, Manitowoc; four brothers-in-law: Tom Koch and his wife, Joanne, New Mexico; Bill Koch and his wife, Gloria, Arizona; Claude Koch and his wife, Rose Mary, Two Rivers; Dan Koch, California; and two sisters-in-law: Barbara Mueller and her husband, Earl, Manitowoc; and Aileen Koch, South Carolina. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by a son: Michael Marquardt; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: William and Laura Koch; and a brother-in-law: Mark Koch.

The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, for a memorial visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. this Tuesday (TONIGHT), Feb. 1, 2005, where a prayer service will conclude the visitation at 7 p.m. Friends may also call Wednesday morning, Feb. 2, 2005, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Memorial Mass will be the Rev. David Hoffman.

Cremation has occurred with burial of the cremated remains at a later date at St. Anne Catholic Church Cemetery, Francis Creek.
