Walter P. Massman, age 87, of 4901 Rockwood Rd., Manitowoc, died Sunday, August 13, 2000, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2000, at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. Rev.Frank Kerscher will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial, with burial to follow in the parish cemetery.

Mr. Massman was born May 19, 1913, in the town of Kossuth, son of the (sic) late Peter and Margaret Meyer Massman. He attended school at Rockwood. On July 18, 1944, Walter was married to Elizabeth Ann Mangin at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Maple Grove. The couple farmed in the town of Kossuth and Walter also worked at the Manitowoc Ship Yards retiring in 1978. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth, Rockwood; one son, Peter Massman, Rockwood; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Charlotte Baker, Manitowoc, Jean (Jim) Hill, Taus, Kathleen (Gary) Yanda, Mishicot, Johan (Robert) Kellner, Manitowoc, Margaret (John) Neuchter, Mishicot; 12 grandchildren, Shelley (Richard) Lawler, Christopher Shimek, Brent Endries, Jeffrey Hill, Jennifer Hill, Jason Hill, Matthew Kellner, Elizabeth Kellner, Kathryn Kellner, Billy Neuchter, Elizabeth Massman, Adam Massman; one great grandson, Devin Lawler; three brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law, Mike Mango, Cato, Paul (Mary) Mangin, Reedsville, Lillian Mangin, Manitowoc, Lorraine Eiles, Reedsville, Margaret (Orie) Schisel, Cato; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. He was preceded in death by one sister, Mabel Schnoor; three brothers, Paul Massman, Leo Massman, Frank Massman; three brothers-in-law, Anton Schnoor, George Mangin, Chester Eiles; four sisters-in-law, Catherine Massman, Juanita Massman, Dorothy Massman, Lillian Mangin.

Relatives and friends may call at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, Kellnersville, Tuesday (TONIGHT) from 5-8 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church, from 9 a.m. until the time of services. There will be a parish prayer service 8 p.m. Tuesday.
