Ivy M. Menchal, age 90, of 329 S. Packer Dr., Francis Creek, died Thursday morning, June 29, 2006, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 3, 2006, at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. The Rev. Paul Paider will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial in the parish cemetery.

The former Ivy Hessel was born Oct. 2, 1915, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Edward and Agnes Benishek Hessel. On Nov. 23, 1939, Ivy was married to Edward J. Menchal at St. Anne Catholic Church in Francis Creek. Ed preceded her in death on April 3, 2000. Ivy was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church and she enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking, and her family.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Dawn (Daniel) Oswald of Kellnersville; Mary Jo (David) Lindemann of Manitowoc; nine grandchildren: Doug (Sue) Oswald of Kellnersville; Dean (Stacie) Oswald of Maribel; Deanna (Donald) Weger of Manitowoc; Darrin (Tanya) Oswald of Kellnersville; Dana (Mike) Tesarik of Francis Creek; Deidra Oswald of Kellnersville and her special friend: Joe Ebert; Megan, Jacob and Adam Lindemann of Manitowoc; 12 great-grandchildren: Beth Oswald, Nick Oswald, Brett Oswald, Devon Oswald, Savannah Oswald, Taylor Weger, Hailey Oswald, Caitlyn Oswald, Kyle Tesarik, Kora Tesarik, Kolton Tesarik, Kaden Tesarik; one great-great-grandchild: Jimmy Oswald; one sister and brother-in-law: LaVerne (Norbert) Ewen of Francis Creek; two sisters-in-law: Mildred Menchal of Two Rivers and Mary Jane Swoboda of Reedsville; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive.

She was preceded in death by one granddaughter: Dixie Oswald; one brother: Sylvan Hessel; three sisters-in-law: Marie Hessel, Viola Kohls, and Catherine Rebechek; and three brothers-in-law: Joseph Menchal, Ellis Kohls, and Raymond Rebechek.

Relatives and friends may call at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Funeral Home of Kellnersville on Sunday, July 2, 2006, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. A prayer service will be lead by Sister Michael Majeskie at 7 p.m. to end the visitation. Relatives and friends may call again on Monday at St. Anne Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.

We wish to thank Dr. Mark Herring, Sister Michael Majeskie, and the Aurora VNA staff, especially Linda B., Karin and Pam, for their wonderful care of Mom. She thought of you as family. A special thank you to her sister, LaVerne, for the unselfish care and love she gave every day. Because of all of you, she was able to complete her earthly life in the home she loved so dearly.

Ivy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved to bake, garden, and care for her family. She will be deeply missed by many, but we take comfort in knowing she is now enjoying life in heaven with her Lord and the people she has missed for so long.
