Richard J. Messar, age 80, a Manitowoc resident, died early Thursday morning, May 9, 2013 at St. Mary's Home at Felician Village, Manitowoc.
He was born on September 2, 1932 in Milwaukee, son of the late Frank and Helen (Malinowski) Messar. He married the former LaVerne Hutterer on October 6, 2006 in Manitowoc. Richard was employed for 30 years at Pioneer Container in Cedarburg, retiring in 1996.
Survivors include his wife: LaVerne, Manitowoc; a son and daughter-in-law: Roger & Lee Messar, Stevens Point; a sister: Dianne Messar, Whitefish Bay; and a brother-in-law: Allen (Edna) Hutterer, Manitowoc.
Cremation has occurred at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc. Private family funeral services will be held.
