Mrs. Cecelia Meyer, 87, a resident of Park Lawn Nursing Home, Manitowoc for the past 1 ½ years, died Saturday morning in Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am Tuesday in Schneider Purath Funeral Home and 11 am in St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Philip Hoffman will officiate and burial will be in St. Anne Catholic Cemetery, Francis Creek.
Mrs. Meyer, nee Cecelia Hassemer was born November 22, 1890 in the Town of Kossuth, daughter of the late Louis and Margaret Hassemer. She was married to John P. Meyer October 10, 1911 in Francis Creek. The couple farmed at Rockwood until their retirement in April of 1950. Mr. Meyer preceded her in death January 22, 1965. She was a member of the Christian Mothers and Altar Society of Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles J. and Dixie of Manitowoc and Julius and Arlene of Englewood, Colo.; a daughter-in-law, Leona Meyer of Manitowoc; five daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Alvin Cisler of Manitowoc, Helen and Frank Zahorik of Two Rivers. Cecelia and Arnold Strouf of Manitowoc, Viola and Gerald Schroeder of Greenleaf and Florence and Paul Wellner of Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Kerscher of Francis Creek and Mrs. Ann Glaeser of Manitowoc; 25 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Edmund, July 25, 1961; three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call in Schneider & Purath Funeral Home from 5 o'clock to 9 o'clock this Monday evening where a parish and Daughters of Isabella service will be conducted at 8 o'clock.
