LEONARD W. MEYER
(1907 - 1958)
Leonard W. Meyer, 51, owner-operator of a general store and tavern in Taus, died Tuesday afternoon at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following a lingering illness. He had been a hospital patient three weeks.
Funeral services will be at 920 a.m. Friday at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville, and at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Male Grove. The Rev. Alois Pimeskern will officiate and burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Francis Creek.
Mr. Meyer was born April 18, 1907, in the Town of Kossuth, son of the late Thomas and Rose Leist Meyer. He married Esther Heiser April 17, 1928, and the couple settled in the Francis Creek area. Mr. Meyer was employed by the Manitowoc County Highway Dept. for many years. Later he was employed by Sheboygan Produce for several years and until three years ago when the couple purchased the store and tavern at Taus.
Mr. Meyer was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Patrick Church and the Manitowoc County Tavern League.
Surviving are his wife, two sons, William of Francis Creek and Kenneth of Taus; three daughters, Mrs. William Hansen and Mrs. Lloyd Schaefer of Manitowoc and Miss Laone Meyer of Taus; a brother, Clarence of Rockwood and nine grandchildren. A brother, Leo, preceded him in death in 1928.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7:30 o'clock this Wednesday evening where the Rosary will be recited at 8:30 by the Holy Name Society and again at 8 p.m. Thursday by Father Pimeskern.
