Gerald J. Mohr, 26 (above), son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred J. Mohr of Francis Creek, died late Friday afternoon in Albuquerque, New Mexico, of a heart attack suffered Thursday in the chemistry laboratory of the Catholic Teachers college there.

The body is being brought here and funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Urbanek and Schlei funeral home and at 10 a.m. at the St. Ann’s Catholic church, Francis Creek. The Rev. Joseph Rauch will officiate with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Gerald Mohr was born in Francis Creek July 2, 1921. He attended St. Ann’s parochial school in Francis Creek and was graduated from West high school in Green Bay in 1939. On June 7 of this year, he received his bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. From last September until the time of his death, he has been assistant professor of psychology at The Catholic Teachers college.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving four years in the navy, 10 months overseas on Okinawa. Prior to entering service in August, 1942, he served as president of the Manitowoc Deanery of the Catholic Youth Organization. He was also a rural correspondent for the Manitowoc Herald Times for five years.

Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred J. Mohr of Francis Creek; brother, Robert of Madison; two sisters, Mrs. George Kilbert of Sharon, Pa., and Joyce at home.

The body may be viewed at the Urbanek and Schlei funeral home from noon Tuesday until the time of services. The rosary will be recited Tuesday evening.
