(1896 - 1957)

Mrs. Florence Mohr, head of the Mohr Insurance Agency which she operated from her home at 1513 Waldo Blvd., Manitowoc, died Sunday evening at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following a 10 day illness. She was 60.

Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc, the Rev. E.D. Rady officiating at a solemn requiem high mass. The Rev. Joseph Rauch will act as deacon. Burial will be in the Francis Creek Cemetery.

Born Florence Strouf at Larrabee July 7, 1896, she was the daughter of the late John and Emma Youra Strouf. When she was 16 years of age her parents moved to Denton, Montana, but after several years she returned to Francis Creek where she was married to Fred J. Mohr who was the agent for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad there. In 1950 the couple moved to Manitowoc and her husband died here during December of that year. Since the death of her husband, Mrs. Mohr owned and operated the Mohr Insurance Agency.

Survivors include a son, Robert of Green Bay; two daughters, Mrs. George Kilbert of Sharon, Penn., ---- illegible ---, of Manitowoc, Mrs. Fred Baugniet and Mrs. Anton Wranovsky of Francis Creek and Mrs. Edgar Suhr of Great Falls, Montana; four brothers, Frank, Edward, Reuben and Leo of Montana and eight grandchildren.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

On Wednesday, Sept. 8th, a pretty wedding took place at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Francis Creek. Florence Isabelle Strouf of Denton, Montana, was married to Frederick J. Mohr. After the wedding ceremony a dinner was served at the bride's sister, Mrs. F. C. Baugniet. The couple then departed on a honeymoon trip to Chicago. The bride is a daughter of John Strouf who formerly conducted the Larrabee Hotel and dance hall. Mr. Mohr is telegraph operator at Francis Creek.
