George M. Popp, 81, of 1856 Clairmont St., Manitowoc, died Sunday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, where he was a patient 10 days.
Funeral services will be at 8:30 am. Tuesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 9 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc, the Rev. E. A. Radey officiating. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Francis Creek.
Mr. Popp was born Nov. 25, 1883, in the Town of Cato, son of the late Michael and Barbara Spaeth Popp. He married Rose Schamberger at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot, Dec. 30, 1918. After the marriage the couple farmed at Manitowoc Rapids and moved in 1933 to the Town of Kossuth. Mrs. Popp died Dec. 1, 1943, and Mr. Popp retired in 1947 and moved to Manitowoc.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Robert Brandl and Mrs. Joseph Sleger of Manitowoc and Mrs. Donald Lang of Rt. 1, Manitowoc; two sons, Arnold of Minneapolis and Raymond of Rt. 1, Mishicot; two brothers, Charles and William of Rt. 1, Cato, and four sisters, Mrs. Helena Franz, Mrs. Clarence Klein and Mrs. Caroline Schemneski of Manitowoc and Mrs. Joseph Letterman of Rt. 1, Whitelaw; 29 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 7 o’clock this Monday evening.
