Mrs. Robert (LaVerne) Reif Sr., age 81, formerly of 6515 Quarter Road, Whitelaw, and currently of 738 S. 19th St., Manitowoc, died unexpectedly, on Monday, June 21, 2010, at her residence.
The former LaVerne Rossi was born on Aug. 23, 1928, in Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Nicholas and Angeline (Gallenberger) Rossi. She grew up and attended schools in Manitowoc. On June 7, 1952, LaVerne was married to Robert H. Reif Sr. at St. Anne Catholic Church in Francis Creek. In the past, LaVerne had worked for the Kresge and Woolworth Stores in Manitowoc. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Francis Creek.
Survivors include her husband: Robert H. Reif Sr., Manitowoc; one son and daughter-in-law: Ronald (Debra) Reif, rural Two Rivers; five grandchildren: Jason Reif, Manitowoc; Pamela (David) Lane, Manitowoc; Tracy (Todd Hymes) Reif-Hymes, Two Rivers; Travis Reif, Two Rivers; Kristopher Reif, Two Rivers; seven great-grandchildren: Sydney, Eathan, Cheyenne, Savanna, Shawn, Tyler, and Carter; sixteen nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Nicholas and Angeline Rossi; one son: Robert Reif Jr.; one grandson: Cody Reif; one sister: Mavise.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 28, 2010, at St. Anne Catholic Church in Francis Creek. The Rev. Paul Paider will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11 a.m.
