Injuries Cause Death of Boy, 3

Unconscious since the accident a week ago today, Ronald(sic) Reif, three-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Reif of Francis Creek, struck by a car on Highway 141, died last night at the Holy Family hospital.

The death was the fifth highway fatality this year in Manitowoc county.

Mrs. Julia Reindl, of route 2, Two Rivers, driver of the car, reported to traffic officers that Ronald and a companion started to run across the highway in Francis Creek ahead of her car. In trying to avoid hitting one boy, the Reif boy was struck by the left front fender and the bumper of the Reindl car.

The boy who sustained a fractured skull and brain concussion was brought to the hospital here.

Funeral services for the Reif boy will be held at 7:30 a.m. Monday at the Husar funeral home and at 8 o'clock at St. Ann's Catholic church, Francis Creek, the Rev. Joseph Rauch officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. The body may be viewed after 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

The parents, two brothers, Frederick and Richard and two sisters, Patricia and Sharon Ann survive.
