Louis W. Remiker Sr., 78, of Francis Creek, died Thursday evening at Family Heritage Home, Manitowoc.

Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Saur Funeral Home and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. The Rev. John Haen will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by American Legion Drews-Bleser Post No. 88 of Manitowoc.

Mr. Remiker was born Feb. 2, 1896, in the Town of Franklin, son of the late Frank and Theresa Vogel Remiker. He married Susan Fogeltanz April 20, 1921, at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. They farmed in the town of Franklin eight years, then operated a farm in the Town of Kossuth, retiring in 1964, when they moved to their present home at Francis Creek. He was a veteran of World War I, serving with Battery C. 35th Field Artillery. He was a member of World War I Barracks No. 2565. He was also a member of Holy Name Society of St. Anne Church and served for 20 years as a school board member of the former Meadow Brook School. Mr. and Mrs. Remiker observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1971.

Survivors include his wife, a son; two daughters of Manitowoc; a step-sister of Hales Corners and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Arthur, who was killed in action during World War II. An infant son, two brothers, and two sisters also preceded him in death.

Friends may call at Saur Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Sunday and Monday until the time of service. A prayer service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Sunday by Father Haen and St. Anne Holy Name Society.
