Wencil Shavlik, 89, retired farmer and harness maker, of Francis Creek, died this morning at the Holy Family hospital, following a two months illness.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at the Husar funeral home, Kellnersville, and at 9:30 at St. Ann Catholic church, Francis Creek, the Rev. Joseph Rauch officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was born in Bohemia in 1860 and at the age of 25 years came to this county. He engaged in farming in Franklin and later in harness making at Kellnersville. Thirty-four years ago he moved to Francis Creek.
The only survivor is his wife, the former Rose Stauber, whom he married 25 years ago.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Saturday where the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday.
