Emil F. Shoulak, 61, of 710 Buchholz St., Two Rivers, died Monday afternoon at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc, where he was a patient since April 15 when he had a heart attack.
Funeral services will be 9:15 am Thursday at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville, and at 10 am at St.Mark Catholic Church, Two Rivers. The Rev. James Vennix will be celebrant of the solemn requiem Mass and burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Francis Creek.
Mr. Shoulak was born Oct. 11, 1904 in the Town of Manitowoc Rapids, son of Adolph Shoulak and the late Mary Shimek Shoulak. He attended St. Joseph Parochial School, Kellnersville and the old northside high school at Manitowoc. He attended a hospital engineering course at Louisiana State University for a year. He started to work for Holy Family Hospital, Sept. 12, 1927 when he learned plant maintenance from john Forst and when Mr. Forst died Shoulak assumed full responsibility for the hospital’s plant management. He worked for the Two Rivers Municipal Hospital and for the last 18 months was on the maintenance crew at Manitowoc County Hospital.
Mr. Shoulak received a citation from the Wisconsin Conference of Catholic Hospitals in April, 1963. He married Lorrain Blimel Sept. 15, 1931 at St. Ann Church, Francis Creek, lived at Manitowoc and for the last two years has resided at Two Rivers.
Survivors are his wife; two sons, Lloyd of Manitowoc and Larry, at home; a daughter, Miss Marie of Milwaukee; his father and step-mother of Rt. 2, Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. Harvey Sempler of Orlando, Fla., and Mrs. Valarian Junk of Rt. 2, Cato; and four grandchildren. A daughter, Louella, died in 1936.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 pm Wednesday where at 8 pm the Rosary will be recited by the Rev. George Beth.
