JOSEPH SLADKY
(1884 - 1961)

Joseph J. Sladky, 77 (photo), of Francis Creek and a longtime resident of the Town of Kossuth died Monday evening at his home after suffering a heart attack.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Saur Funeral home, Kellnersville, and at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, Francis Creek, with the Rev. John Haen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Sladky was born Mar. 5, 1884, in the Town of Kossuth, son of the late Joseph and Anna Krall Sladky. He was educated in the Elm View School in the Town of Kossuth. He married Anastasia Musil April 12, 1921, at Francis Creek. The family operated a farm in the Town of Kossuth until 1953.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Leonard of Francis Creek; a daughter, Mrs. Joseph E. Shavlik of Rt. 1, Whitelaw; a brother, Edward of Francis Creek; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Peroutka of Rt. 1, Whitelaw, and Mrs. Joseph Shupita of Francis Creek and two grandchildren. One sister and two grandchildren preceded him in death.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 8:15 p.m.

At Francis Creek this morning, Rev. Rouz officiating, Miss Anastanic (sic) Musil, who recently arrived from Europe, where her parents still reside, and Joseph J. Sladky, son of Joseph S. Sladky, were united in marriage.
Miss Rose Novak acted as maid of honor and Edward Sladky, a brother of the groom, as best man.
A reception was held at the home of the groom's parents, only immediate relatives being present.
