Mrs. John Strouf (photo), nee Emma Youra, 74, Francis Creek, died at 8 o'clock last night at the Holy Family hospital following a heart attack. She had been ill for some months.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 9:30 o'clock from the Wattawa, Urbanek and Schlei funeral home and at 10 from the St. Ann's Catholic church at Francis Creek. Interment will be in the St. Ann's cemetery. The Rev. Joseph Rauch will officiate.
Mrs. Strouf was born January 5, 1866 in Kossuth. Her 74th birthday would have been this coming Friday. In 1884 she was married to John Strouf. The couple lived in Larrabee for some years and then, in 1912, moved to a 700 acre wheat ranch eight miles from Denton, Montana. Thirteen years ago Mrs. Strouf returned to Wisconsin. The picture which accompanies this obituary was taken eight years ago when Mrs. Strouf made a trip to France with the Gold Star Mothers to visit the grave of her son, Henry, who was shot in the World War.
Survivors include her husband, who lives at Denton, Montana; five daughters, Mrs. F. C. Baugniet and Mrs. Fred Mohr, both of Francis Creek, Mrs. Edgar Suhr, Great Falls, Montana; Mrs. Anton Wranovsky, Francis Creek, and Mrs. Leo Rysticken, Manitowoc; six sons, Anton, Manitowoc, Frank of Great Falls, Leo of Fort Sheridan, Wyoming, and William, Edward and Reuben of Denton, Montana; one brother, Anton of Francis Creek; and one sister, Mrs. Herman Kitzerow, Kewaunee. Two sons preceded her in death. They were Henry, killed in the World War, and John, who died as the result of injuries suffered in the war.
The body will lie in state at the funeral home from Thursday noon until the time of services Friday.
